In December we featured a chandelier made using Bic pens and now, something even more eco friendly in the shape of an elegant light shade/sculpture made from recycled rubbish.
Berlin based, British designer, Stewart Haygarth has produced this “Tide” chandelier as part of a larger body of work using ‘man made’ debris washed up on the Kent coastline. This large lamp measures 150 cm in diameter and is illuminated using a 100w incandescent light bulb. There are ten in the edition and price is on request.
Haygarth has also made light shades using discarded party poppers and disposable plastic wine glasses. His site is well worth a look. www.stuarthaygarth.com

The EcoList is a service organised by Karina Wells and Andy Pepper. Karina has been involved with community and eco/sustainable issues for many years and introduced the EcoTeam concept to the UK. Andy is involved with the visual arts and arts funding. They met as part of the first EcoTeams project in West Bridgford, Nottingham, and have worked together on a variety of community projects since.
Karina's expertise in eco issues and Andy's curiosity for eco art and design means that the EcoList brings you a broad (if slightly quirky) collection of information, news and events from the web.
This site aims to provide you with some of the best Eco and Recycling products and information we can find. EcoList is not connected with any of the products or services listed and all images are taken from sites featured.
