This expandable bench has been designed by Brussels based architect-designer Charles Kaisin using recycled paper.
He takes sheets of newspaper, glues, layers and compresses them to produce a material as strong as wood. These are then used to fabricate visually stunning furniture. In this case the ‘bench’ can expand from 30 cm to 7m, be used to sit on or as a table surface.

The EcoList is a service organised by Karina Wells and Andy Pepper. Karina has been involved with community and eco/sustainable issues for many years and introduced the EcoTeam concept to the UK. Andy is involved with the visual arts and arts funding. They met as part of the first EcoTeams project in West Bridgford, Nottingham, and have worked together on a variety of community projects since.
Karina's expertise in eco issues and Andy's curiosity for eco art and design means that the EcoList brings you a broad (if slightly quirky) collection of information, news and events from the web.
