When you have over 4,000 outlets trading in businesses as diverse as food, banking, pharmacy, insurance and legal services, your energy demands tend to be rather high. As we aim to be good for everyone, we believe it's our responsibitily to ensure our carbon footprint isn't of Yeti-like proportions. So, we've taken a big step for a retailer and had a wind farm built on our land (with others soon to be constructed). Of course, energy isn't the only thing we like to produce ourselves. We're also the UK's largest farmer. Our food is grown in a responsible and sustainable manner, and much of it is then sold in our stores. 99% of which is powered by renewable energy. Is it any wonder we are Britain's greenest high street retailer?
