Solar Bins - Sun Powered 'Crushers'

One of the problems with public bins is that they fill up and it costs money to empty them. Solar power to the rescue with bins which use power from the sun to activate built in crushers.

A number of these 'crusher' bins have been installed in Torbay, Devon. The solar powered crushers can reduce the amount of rubbish inside by up to five times. As they do not have to be emptied so often there is a drop in
carbon emissions from the vehicles needed to empty them.
